Building Fusion Festival’s World-Themed Tents in South Bend

The event

South Bend Venues Parks & Arts produces Fusion Fest at Howard Park in South Bend, Indiana. Each year is built around a world-tour theme, with a tent for each region instead of one generic festival layout.

The ask

In 2025 that meant themed tents for North America, South America, Africa, Asia and Europe, plus tents for the food village and the entrance, all on one park site in a short build window.

What DZ delivered

DZ planned the equipment tent by tent, so each themed area could be built, dressed and struck as its own unit, with a production manager and crew leads over each area. Local crew from the South Bend area worked alongside DZ’s team. For 2026 the festival moved to mandala and geometric shade structures in six styles across its stages and gathering areas.

Why it worked

Six themed areas on one site only come together if each is planned as its own build and then scheduled together. Leads over each area kept quality the same across the whole park.
