Shade Structures Across Bass Canyon’s Campgrounds and Stages

The event

Bass Canyon is Excision’s multi-day festival at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington. DZ Productions has built its shade structures since 2018, so the crew knows the site, the ground and the wind on that bluff.

The ask

Shade across a large footprint, not one stage: the campground, the stage areas, the merch area and the front entrance, each with different foot traffic and ground, on a load-in and strike that runs for weeks around the show.

What DZ delivered

For 2026 DZ organized the build by zone: campground shade, structures at the Crater Stage and Pivot Stage areas, cover over the merch line, and shade at the front entrance. Each zone had its own equipment plan, with a production manager and crew leads running the zones and a rigging crew building them.

Why it worked

Campground shade gets used differently from shade over a merch line or a stage. Planning zone by zone matched the rigging and crew to what each area needed, and years on the same site mean fewer surprises.

Work with DZ Productions

Whether your festival needs shade at one stage or across a whole campground, DZ Productions builds structures for the site, not a template.
